Authentic Jimmy Vee Autograph for sale r2-d2. Lovely 11×14 colour glossy photo hand signed by Jimmy Vee in black marker. Autographs obtained in 3rd Feb 2018 at the Edinburgh Convention.

 

Jimmy Vee (born 3 February 1959) is a Scottish actor, puppeteer and stunt performer. Best known for playing a number of Doctor Who monsters and aliens including Bannakaffalatta in the 2007 Christmas special Voyage of the Damned, as well as the Graske in the Doctor Who spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures. He is also well known as the actor for R2-D2 in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, replacing the late Kenny Baker, who died in 2016.

R2-D2 or Artoo-Detoo a fictional robot character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. A small astromech droid, R2-D2 is a major character and appears in nine of the ten Star Wars films to date. At various points throughout the course of the films, R2 is a friend to C-3PO; Padmé Amidala, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

English actor Kenny Baker played R2-D2 in all three original Star Wars films and received billing credit for the character in the prequel trilogy; where Baker’s role reduced as R2-D2 portrayed mainly by radio controlled props and CGI models. Additionally, in the sequel trilogy, Baker credited as consultant for The Force Awakens; however, Jimmy Vee also co-performed the character in some scenes. Vee later took over the role beginning in The Last Jedi. Furthermore, R2-D2’s sounds and vocal effects created by Ben Burtt. R2-D2 designed in artwork by Ralph McQuarrie, co-developed by John Stears and built by Tony Dyson.
