Sir Alec Guinness, CH, CBE (born 2 April 1914 – 5 August 2000) an English actor. After an early career on the stage. Furthermore, Guinness featured in several of the Ealing Comedies; including The Lady killers and Kind Hearts and Coronets in which he played nine different characters.

Known for his portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi in George Lucas’s original Star Wars trilogy, receiving a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Obi Wan vanished during a scene when fighting with Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Ben Kenobi, is a character in the Star Wars franchise. Within the original trilogy he is portrayed by English actor Alec Guinness autograph photo, while in the prequel trilogy a younger version of the character is portrayed by Scottish actor Ewan McGregor. In the original trilogy, he is a mentor to Luke Skywalker, to whom he introduces the ways of the Jedi. In the prequel trilogy, set decades earlier, he is a teacher and friend to Luke’s father Anakin; who eventually falls to the dark side of the Force and becomes Darth Vader. Frequently featured as a main character in various other Star Wars media.

Guinness’ performance as Obi-Wan in the original Star Wars (1977) earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, the only acting nomination for a Star Wars film.
