Ian McDiarmid Autographs, Star Wars
Ian McDiarmid was born on August 11, 1944 in Carnoustie, Tayside, Scotland. He studied for a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of St. Andrews, but found that his calling was in theatre. He went to the Royal Academy in Glasgow, where he received the prestigious gold medal for his work. Now he has a successful career as a theatre director, and from 1990 until his retirement in 2001, was Joint Artistic Director of Londons Almeida Theatre in Islington.
He and his co-director Jonathan Kent revived the Almeida and persuaded many Hollywood stars including Kevin Spacey, Ralph Fiennes and Anna Friel to tread the boards in their humble theatre. They won the coveted London Evening Standard Award in 1998 for their efforts. McDiarmid is also well known for his film and television appearances, and is most famous for his chilling performance as Emperor Palpatine in George Lucass Star Wars autographs.
Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid autographs. In the original trilogy, he depicted as the aged, pale-faced and cloaked Emperor of the Galactic Empire and the Sith master of Darth Vader. In the prequel trilogy, hes portrayed as a middle-aged charismatic Senator from Naboo who uses deception and political manipulation to rise to the position of Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic before transforming the Republic into the Empire.
